Renting an Apartment in Metrocenter

What You Should Know

Metrocenter Mall is a large mall in northwest Phoenix. It is located at I-17 and Peoria next to the amusement park Castles N' Coasters. The mall was built in 1973, making it one of the older malls in the Valley. The mall has over 200 stores on two levels and is known for a fountain that shoots water up in the air periodically.

Metrocenter was featured in the film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, as the San Dimas Mall. In January of 2004, Metrocenter was sold to Westcor, the Arizona retail giant, from the Simon Property Group. A complete renovation to the exterior was completed in December 2005. By the end of 2006, Robinsons-May will become Macy's after the merger between the May Company and Federated Department Stores. Macy's anchored the mall as of February 2005, and later decided to shut down that location. Also, the interior is undergoing remodeling with new stores scheduled to debut in fall of 2006.
